Written on Sep 30

The cover art for Osaka Popstar’s “Rock’ Em O-Sock ’Em Live!” painted by Topps artist John Pound (Wacky Packages, Garbage Pail Kids and more), made the #2 slot in Smashing Magazine’s 100 Obscure and Remarkable CD covers!

As art is an integral facet in the world of Osaka Popstar, its truly an honor to be cited alongside legendary album covers like the Beatles “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” and “Revolver”, The Sex Pistols “Never Mind the Bollocks” (designed by Jamie Reid), Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” (voted and declared on many lists internationally as the greatest album cover art in history), plus modern day classics like Green Day’s”21st Century Breakdown” (with art by English graffiti sensation Banksy). The extensive and eclectic list includes covers from Tool, the Pixies, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Zappa, Marilyn Manson, Smashing Pumpkins, Joy Division, Bjork, Beck and far too many to list here, 100 to be exact!
